Fermions on wobbling kinks: normal versus quasinormal modes

چکیده

The system consisting of a fermion in the background wobbling kink is studied this paper. To investigate impact on fermion-kink interaction, we employ time-dependent perturbation theory formalism quantum mechanics. do so, compute transition probabilities between states given terms Bogoliubov coefficients. We derive Fermi's golden rule for model, which allows to continuum at constant rate if coupling smaller than frequency. Moreover, study replacing shape mode with quasinormal mode. In case, decays time due leakage mode, and final probability decreases sharply large constants way that analogous rule. Throughout paper, compare perturbative results numerical simulations show they are good agreement.

Scalar normal modes of higher dimensional gravitating kinks

The scalar normal modes of higher dimensional gravitating kink solutions are derived. By perturbing to second order the gravity and matter parts of the action in the background of a five-dimensional kink, the effective Lagrangian of the scalar fluctuations is derived and diagonalized in terms of a single degree of freedom which invariant under infinitesimal diffeomorphisms. The spectrum of the ...

Fermions on Thick Branes in Background of Sine-Gordon Kinks

A class of thick branes in background of Sine-Gordon kinks had been constructed in hep-th/0407158 (Ref. [1]). In the background of the warped geometry and the kink, the localization problem of massive fermions on the branes had also been discussed, and discrete massive fermion states on the branes were obtained. In this paper, we reinvestigate the issue of localization of spin half fermions on ...

Quasinormal Modes of Near Extremal Black Branes

We find quasinormal modes of near extremal black branes by solving a singular boundary value problem for the Heun equation. The corresponding eigenvalues determine the dispersion law for the collective excitations in the dual strongly coupled N = 4 SYM at finite temperature. In memory of Aleksandr Sergeevich Vshivtsev

Logarithmic perturbation theory for quasinormal modes

Logarithmic perturbation theory (LPT) is developed and applied to quasinormal modes (QNMs) in open systems. QNMs often do not form a complete set, so LPT is especially convenient because summation over a complete set of unperturbed states is not required. Attention is paid to potentials with exponential tails, and the example of a Pöschl-Teller potential is briefly discussed. A numerical method...

Quasinormal Modes and Strong Cosmic Censorship.

The fate of Cauchy horizons, such as those found inside charged black holes, is intrinsically connected to the decay of small perturbations exterior to the event horizon. As such, the validity of the strong cosmic censorship (SCC) conjecture is tied to how effectively the exterior damps fluctuations. Here, we study massless scalar fields in the exterior of Reissner-Nordström-de Sitter black hol...
